Deizzle- ‘Incarcerated’

Deizzle reflects on the reality of life in the ghetto on ‘Incarcerated’, focusing on the lack of opportunities and poor living condition leading young people into crime and violence in Jamaica. For many it is the only way to provide for their family. This really hits home when Deizzle sings “when it reach night, the thugs crawl out of the slum and try to provide for them own”.

This song is really powerful , focusing on crime and violence in Jamaica from a different angle than we are used to seeing. Looking at the causes of crime in Jamaica focusing on the lack of opportunities for people living in the ghetto and how desperate their situation is that crime looks to be the only way to survive.
