Introducing Krysie, an upcoming singer songwriter out of Kingston.
Krysie was born Crystal Robinson and grew up in Kingston. Krysie found her musical talent at a young age and was highly self motivated in pursuing this talent, but was also heavily influenced by the encouragement and support from her Grandmother.
Krysie is not disheartened by the heavily competitive nature of the Jamaican musical landscape, even from an early age she participated at various events from community shows to karaoke sessions, using these mediums as a means to be identified in the industry and create a following.
Krysie is currently signed to a new joint venture with ‘Warriors Musick Productions’ and ‘Feed Tha Music’. Her aim is to continue her musical journey, to engage with her fans, to produce more quality music; and to grow as a dedicated professional, which she hopes will be self-evident in the music she is releasing.
Her voice inspires her confidence, it has encouraged her to push her boundaries and challenge her potential by entering the likes of the Tastee’s Talent Search Competition, where she landed third place and won best styled artist in the competition which encouraged her to continue crafting her artistic profile.
Following her early success combined with her passion and persistency, she decided to participate in the Digicel Rising Competition, resulting in her being one of the top 10 finalists and acquiring more exposure in the public eye.
Krysie’s music is not defined by a definitive genre, often being referred to as a Reggae and Dancehall artist of singjay, but her sound doesn’t limit her to these genres. She uses musical influences ranging from Beyonce, Etta James, Lady Saw and Bob Marley to inspire her sound. Her melodies, delivery and how she vocally caresses a beat indicates that she is a musical anomaly and there is a lot more to come from this songstress.
With her friendly personality, unique sense and interest in fashion, and the ability to keep audience engaged, there is no doubt that Krysie is a complete artist and a force to be reckoned with.
