Album Review- ‘King Mydas’- Notnice Records

‘King Mydas’ shines as an example of why Notnice has maintained his position as one of the top producers in dancehall, as he brings together both established and upcoming acts in an all encompassing look at the dancehall genre.

Whether it’s a smooth roots love song with Popcaan, a boasty flexing tune with Jafrass or even a quick dip into UK rap with Tion Wayne. Notnice shows why he is one of the top talents in Jamaica on this album. He is able to bring together a wide range of sounds on this album and combine them all into one flowing piece of work.

Not only does Notnice bring together his frequent collaborators on this album he also shines the spotlight on some upcoming talent with big tracks on the album from Nordia Mothersille, Mink Jo and Natural Flames. As well as even taking the album with tracks from Ghana’s Shatta Wale and Tion Wayne.

Notnice’s debut album does not disappoint and perfectly demonstrates why is remains as one of the top producers in Jamaica and if you can’t remember why he holds that position just have a quick listen to the outro.
