When two of the biggest names in dancehall, Busy Signal and Bounty Killer like up on a track we are already expecting something incredible; and they have both definitely provided that on ‘Nuh Weh Nuh Safe’.
Bounty Killer and Busy Signal have a long history of collaborations, with their most recent prior to this track coming in November 2017 with ‘More Reasoning’ which featured as the final instalment of Busy Signal’s series of ‘Reasoning’ tracks. Perhaps their biggest collaboration to date was ‘Summn’ a Guh Gwaan’ which featured on Busy Signal’s 2010 album D.O.B and has since gone on to record over 1.5 million views on YouTube. However, that record might not stand for much longer following the release of ‘Nuh Weh Nuh Safe’.
Busy Signal and Bounty Killer mean serious business on this track, ready to catch the opposition “off guard whilst they’re Reasoning” (perhaps referencing the two’s earlier collaboration ‘More Reasoning’) they are ready to let the “ting sing like Tina Turner” and exposed “the frauds”. Busy Signal and Bounty Killer are always going to find their opponents hence the title ‘Nuh Weh Nuh Safe’ with Busy Signal telling this opponents “nuh weh nuh safe, when dem hiding”. Their opposition are “learners” whereas Busy Signal and Bounty Killer are experienced veterans.
As you can expect on a track when two of the biggest icons in dancehall link up there are many levels to this track, with both artists showing off their lyric skill on the track. Bounty and Busy team up perfectly on this track with their differing styles complimenting each other well, with the contrast between the different styles bringing another level to the track.
